Our Journey

From idea to platform

A scrappy team with a big vision — built one feature at a time

🌱
2022 — The Beginning
The Idea That Sparked Ooki
A songwriter frustrated with not being credited on tracks they wrote sparked a conversation: what if creators had a platform that truly put them first? Ooki was born in a shared studio apartment.
⚡
2023 — Building
First Upload, First Fan
The platform launched in private beta with 50 artists. Within the first month we had 500 tracks, 10,000 streams, and a waiting list of creators hungry for something different.
🚀
2024 — Expanding
Sonic Capsules Launch
We introduced time-locked Sonic Capsules — a revolutionary way for artists to build anticipation and reward loyal fans with exclusive early access to unreleased music.
🌍
2025 — Now
A Global Creator Community
Ooki now powers thousands of creators across music, film, and podcasting. We've expanded into Virtual Artist tools, AI-powered mixes, and filmmaker-specific features. This is just the beginning.
What We Stand For

Our values drive every decision

🎤
Creator First
Every product decision starts with one question: does this help creators succeed? If the answer is no, we don't build it.
🔓
Radical Ownership
Your music is yours. Full stop. We don't take a cut of your rights, ever. You create it, you own it, you earn from it.
⚖️
Fair Revenue
We believe in transparent, equitable pay. Songwriters and collaborators get credited and compensated — not just the face on the album cover.
🌐
Borderless Music
Great music has no borders. We build tools that make it as easy to reach a fan in Lagos as one in Los Angeles.
🤝
Community Over Competition
We foster collaboration, not comparison. Artists on Ooki lift each other up — sharing credits, collaborating on tracks, and growing together.
🧪
Always Innovating
Music tech moves fast. We move faster. From AI mixes to time-locked capsules, we're constantly building the future of how music is shared.
